Follow your dreams…it’s WORTH it!!!

Years ago, I started this website to share my passion with the world about natural foods. Eventually, I incorporated many aspects of holistic health. And for those of you who’ve been around a while, you’ve seen the progression of the site as it has widened in scope to include a lot more about inspirational living, motivation, happiness and following your dreams – which I think makes a lot of sense considering our name is “Completely Nourished,” after all.  🙂

branched oakIf you’re not totally up to speed on what’s been happenin’ around here this year, Chad and I had a random idea this past January that we should sell all of our belongings (and our home) and get an RV and travel full-time. Uh, ya…not our personalities at all….but our hearts were crying out to us, and it felt SO right. Fast forward 11 months, and…we DID it!!! Woohooo!!!! Honestly, I don’t think it has really fully sank in yet. Or maybe it has…who knows? LOL! It’s funny how the hugest goals can feel not huge at all once you accomplish them…they just feel…well….”right.”

We officially launched “full-time” in our RV from Nebraska a few weeks ago, and are now “escaping” the freezing cold winter down in Texas. We’re in Rockport, TX along the Gulf Coast at the moment. We’ll be here another 3 weeks at least, and we intend to stay the whole winter, but ya just never know…

mckinneyWell, anyway…I’ve been a bit “off the radar” these past 6-9 months or so as we’ve “overhauled” our life, but we’re settling in now, and I’m back in action. So I just wanted to drop by and tell you that… if you have a dream, you’ve GOT to do whatever it takes to follow your heart and go for it!! Chad and I have made MANY “leaps of faith” over the past few years…ya know, the kind that sorta make you wanna puke (or chicken out) right before you go through with it (like quitting our jobs, etc.)! And…every single time that we’ve taken these “risks” (with nothing but good intentions in our hearts), things have ALWAYS had a way of working out.

dream big2As we were out exploring in Austin, TX last week, I found myself overcome with emotion about having accomplished our RV dream, so I made this little video for all of you (see below). I held back quite a bit because the area started to get crowded (I thought I’d found a private spot when I decided to turn on the camera) and I got a little “chicken,” but next time I’ll say screw it and just go for it full force, anyway….I promise! 🙂

  1. You are sooooo amazing and I am blown away with joy to read your post. I have learned so much from your blog and have watched your videos. I walked away from a decade long teaching profession and the unhealthy lifestyle that went along with it and even though I’m broke broke broke, I’ve made so many healthier tree hugging kind of life changes. I want to LIVE! And your post about your hair cutting has inspired me in so many ways. I pray daily for the guidance to be brave enough to take the leaps forward to living my dreams. Thank you from my soul for your writing and story.

    • Helen,
Thanks so much for taking time to leave a comment and share! I am humbled by your compliments, and I’m SUPER excited that your enjoying my writings! 🙂 🙂 Good for you for taking your life and health into your own hands – – sounds like you’re so glad you did! I’m so glad you found inspiration in my hair cut post….I cannot imagine how my life would be if I hadn’t gone ahead and taken that “leap.” It’s so funny b/c the hubby (who was pretty opposed to the shaved head idea before I did it) and I both feel a bit startled now when we see old pics of me with hair. LOL! It doesn’t seem like that is ME to either of us now! 🙂 Before you leap, it seems like it will require so much “bravery” but really…it rarely seems that way after the fact because then you can’t imagine your life any other way. And the pieces seem to come together so much more easily than you can ever imagine when you’re standing on the cliff with all of your fears holding a tight grip on you. I’ve discovered that the “tools” we need on the other side of the leap are often not revealed to us until we “leap” – a way of “earning” them perhaps? Well, keep us posted on your dream quest! You WILL get there!!! And you’ll never regret it!!! Thank you from MY soul for commenting here – it can so often feel like I’m talking to myself on the web! LOL!

  2. I am not sure how I got to this site but I am glad I did. Your video made me cry. I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and back fractures. I would soooo love to do what you are doing. My husband wants to do it, too. Someday……

    • Oh, Karen….I’m so sorry to hear of your health struggles. As you may be aware, I’ve been through my own hell with Fibro years ago 😦
Please know that there IS hope! And I pray that you find relief soon! Seven years ago when my body was being ravaged by chronic pain and fatigue, I would never have dreamed that I could be living the life I’m living right now. Never give up looking for answers. Keep the faith, and keeping making steps (no matter how small) toward your dreams….and you’ll get there! And when you do, we totally gotta meet up on the road!!! 🙂
