My “Real Foods” Diary (Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011)

Today is October 29, 2011. By reader request, I logged all of my food today so I can show you an example of the foods I might eat in a typical day as part of my “additive-free,” REAL FOODS lifestyle. Today was a little unusual because we ate a really late breakfast and I took an afternoon nap; so this is a bit less food than I eat in an average day, I suppose. No worries, I’ll blog about other days in the future, too, to give you a better idea 🙂 (Click any pictures to enlarge!)

Breakfast: Eggs fried in coconut oil; sweet potatoes sauteed in coconut oil and seasoned with Chipotle powder and salt; pineapple

Snack: Pineapple

Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken breast, red peppers and homemade Italian Dressing

Snack: none (took a nap!)

Dinner: Leftover chili, celery

Evening snack: Pistachios, cantaloupe

Bedtime snack: banana

  1. Enjoyed this I love all sorts of food but usually have issues in planning for a healthy lifestyle. I have a child that the school is trying to diagnose with ADD I’m wondering if I could change some of the food he eats to help him concentrate better in school. I would totally eat you days menu plan. So I would love to see more of these! But the videos don’t work too well on my Black berry and that is the only internet connection we have. So I like how you did it today!

    • That’d be wonderful if dietary changes could help your child. I’ve heard a lot about the usefulness of eliminating additives and colors for kids with attention difficulties, so I’d love for you to keep us posted on his progress!

I plan to post these food logs fairly regularly, as it seems there’s a lot of interest from readers…and they won’t be video form, so you should be able to view them no problem 🙂

Take care, and thanks for the feedback!
      Christy
